Chapter Meetings

Chapter meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month, except December. In December, we hold our annual “Chapter banquet,” which is scheduled and announced each year.

Our meetings are currently held in person at our Virginian Station, 1402 South Jefferson Street.

Food and fellowship begin at 6:30 PM and continue until the meeting starts at 7:30 PM.

Meetings begin at 7:30 PM and typically include a business portion lasting between 30 minutes and one hour, followed by a short break and then a program. Most meetings conclude by 9:30 PM.

Our programs cover a variety of rail history topics and may include videos, guest speakers, and slide presentations.

Any chapter, board, membership, or committee meeting may be canceled by notice posted here or due to weather-related conditions, as outlined in the following policy:

A meeting will be considered canceled due to weather if any of the following conditions occur: Roanoke City Schools are closed on the day of or the day following the meeting, or Virginia Western night classes are canceled for the evening of the meeting.
